We are receiving many calls with questions about a letter mailed to patients in the community.
In hopes of eliminating some confusion, this letter is NOT from Dr. Ramirez at Wimberley Medical Clinic. This letter is from Wimberley Wellness by Brookshire Brothers. Wimberley Medical Clinic is NOT closing. We are aware of Wimberley Wellness closing and are serving as custodian of their records. Meaning, AFTER October 18, 2018 WMC will be able to send your records from Wimberley Wellness office to the new provider of your choice. You would have received this letter from Wimberley Wellness even if you just saw them for one visit.

Q: What do I do in case of an emergency?
A: Call 911 or have someone drive you to the nearest emergency room.

Q: How can I schedule an appointment?
A: Call our office (512) 847-6789, select option 3 from our phone tree during office hours: 8:30-5, Monday – Thursday, closed 12:00-1:30; Friday 8:30-12:00.

Q: Can I fill out forms before I get to the office?
A: Yes. This will help you be seen in a timely manner.

Q: Do you draw labs that are ordered by your doctors?
A: We draw blood and offer various lab services. A courier picks up the blood work daily. Typically, we will receive a report by the next morning. If you are an existing patient, we draw blood ordered by other doctors on Monday only.


Q: How do I refill prescriptions?
A: If you need a refill on a medication WMC has already prescribed, please first contact your pharmacy to have them fax a refill request.  If you have questions pertaining to a medication refill please contact our office, (512) 847-6789, phone tree option 5. Please remember to allow 24-48 hours for refills and e
ven longer if a prior authorization is required from your insurance.

Q: Do you have an x-ray machine?
A: Yes, we have an x-ray machine for in office exams only.


Q: Do you remove skin lesions?
A: Yes, we remove skin lesions and send specimens for testing.  (Not all insurance policies cover this procedure and often consider it cosmetic).


Q: Do you perform physicals?
A: Yes, we are happy to perform routine physicals and paps, camp physicals, school physicals, and pre-op physicals. We do ask that you schedule your physical several days in advance of the deadline. Don't wait until the last day of summer to schedule a school physical. Click HERE for a
Medical History Sheet , (included in the New Patient Packet) that you will be required to fill out before the doctor sees you. This will speed up the process in the office. Please understand that if you have Medicare you no longer are eligible for a physical, and now can schedule a wellness exam.

Q: What is the difference between a wellness and physical?
A: A physical exam is a hands-on exam of all major body systems. Whereas a Wellness Visit is a review of your health record and risk factors associated with aging, performed by a LVN. For more information, refer to your Medicare Benefits Booklet.


Q: Are you open on Fridays?
A: Yes, we reserve our Friday appointments for our sick/acute type
visits. We take appointments till lunch.

Q: Do you give flu shots?
A: No, please contact your local pharmacy for a flu vaccine.
